In the long tradition of recognizing student efforts for the annual American Legion award, DMS teachers are asked to nominate a broad array of highly qualified 8th-grade students.
Candidates for this award are evaluated in the categories of leadership, scholarship, courage, and service. Based on their achievements, written evaluations, and outstanding qualifications, this year's award winners are Maddie Van Vooren and Colton Bonner.
